JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Bill Eigel, R-Weldon Spring, will host a rally in the State Capitol Rotunda to promote Senate Joint Resolution 44. This resolution would eliminate the personal property tax in Missouri. If SJR 44 is approved by the Missouri General Assembly, it will be placed on the ballot for final approval by Missouri voters.
“I believe it is time to eliminate the personal property tax once and for all,” Sen. Eigel said. “State and local government are already receiving a record number of tax dollars each year, and I believe the Legislature must do a better job prioritizing that money. I also believe cutting taxes is an excellent way to stimulate economic growth, and this is the perfect time to look at the ways we can reduce the tax burden on all Missourians.”
Senator Eigel will host the Property Tax Cut Rally in the rotunda on the 1st floor of the State Capitol at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, to discuss SJR 44.
