Audio: Sen. Emery Discusses SJR 50 and SB 591

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, discusses Senate Joint Resolution 50, which was heard in the Missouri Senate Education Committee this week. The resolution would require students participating in any single-gender event or activity organized by a statewide activity association to participate in the event corresponding to the student’s biological sex. He also talks about Senate Bill 591, which has attained preliminary Missouri Senate approval. This proposal seeks to modify provisions relating to civil actions, including punitive damages and unlawful merchandising practices.
