Senator Bill Eigel Announces Extension of Nomination Deadline for Lieutenant Governor’s Senior Service Awards

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Bill Eigel, R-Weldon Spring, would like to announce the lieutenant governor is extending the nomination deadline for the 2020 Senior Service Awards due to the COVID-19 virus. He is extending the nomination deadline to April 30, to allow organizations more time to nominate a deserving senior citizen.

Nonprofit organizations located in St. Charles County should contact Sen. Eigel’s office if they have a senior volunteer, who resides in St. Charles County, they would like to nominate for the Senior Service Award. This individual should be a senior citizen from the organization whose service and dedication to the community has made a difference.

“I support the lieutenant governor’s decision to extend the nomination deadline for the Senior Service Awards,” Sen. Eigel said. “These awards present a wonderful opportunity to give public thanks and recognition to dedicated seniors whose volunteer work has had a positive impact on their fellow citizens.”
