Statement from Senator Gina Walsh on Her Absence from the Senate JEFFERSON CITY — Senator Gina Walsh, D-Bellefontaine Neighbors, issued the following statement relating to her absence from the Missouri Senate on Tuesday and Wednesday. “Today, the Missouri Senate passed a supplemental budget bill to appropriate funds from a multi-billion dollar relief package from the federal government to help Missourians combat the significant challenges they face regarding the COVID-19 virus. This aid will assist Missouri workers, small businesses, the health care industry and vulnerable citizens during this unprecedented pandemic. I fully support this measure. Unfortunately, I was unable to travel to Jefferson City to formally vote in support of the supplemental budget bill because I am self-quarantined after a possible exposure to the virus, and I did not want to put my colleagues, staff or others at risk. In addition, I strongly encourage all Missourians to continue to follow the guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state and local authorities.
