Missouri senators continue to reflect and react to the governor’s annual budget address. What’s better-known as the State of the State was delivered to lawmakers this past Wednesday. Missouri Senate Majority Floor Leader Caleb Rowden of Columbia says he is impressed with what he heard…
“Some really good stuff in there,” Sen. Rowden said. “You know, I think stuff that is kind of down to the ‘nuts and bolts’ of things that he thinks is important and relevant for a good, forward-moving state.”
But, Missouri Senate Minority Floor Leader Gina Walsh of Bellefontaine Neighbors has a different takeaway…
“I’m disappointed in the fact that latest numbers from MO HealthNet show another 5,000 Missourians have been dropped from the Medicaid roles, and almost all of them are children,” Sen. Walsh said.
The Missouri General Assembly is not meeting today, in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday. When lawmakers return tomorrow, it will be for the start of the third week of session, which will include several more committee hearings.
