JEFFERSON CITY — This Week in the Missouri Senate reviews:
- Senate Joint Resolution 38, which would let Missouri voters decide regulating the Legislature to limit the influence of partisan or other special interests;
- Senate Bill 539, legislation that seeks to increase taxes on motor fuels;
- Senate Bill 591, a measure that would modify provisions relating to punitive damages;
- Senate Bill 575, which would establish procedures for a claimant in an action for damages due to asbestos exposure to disclose claims filed with an asbestos trust; and
- Senate Bill 600, legislation that seeks to require a prison term and prohibit certain other punishments for second-degree murder and certain dangerous felonies.
