SB 540 - Under current law, any rights that were restricted as a collateral consequence of a person's criminal record shall be restored upon issuance of the order of expungement. This act adds that if a person was convicted of a federal misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, an order of expungement granted under this act shall be considered a complete removal of all effects of the expunged conviction.This provision is identical to a provision in CCS#2/HCS/SS#2/SB 26 (2021) and CCS/HCS/SS/SCS/SBs 53 & 60 (2021).
