SB 601 - Current law provides for limitations on the rates at which institutions of higher education, except for community colleges with lower-than-average in-state tuition, may increase their tuition based on factors including the consumer price index and whether such an institution's tuition is higher or lower than average. Under this act, for all academic years beginning on or after July 1, 2022, and ending on or before June 30, 2027, such limitations shall not apply to approved public institutions, as defined in current law, or to community colleges.
This act is substantially similar to HB 856 (2021).
