KANSAS CITY CHIEF OF POLICE (Section 84.480)

This act repeals provisions relating to a mandatory salary range for the Kansas City chief of police.

FUNDING FOR THE KANSAS CITY POLICE BOARD (Section 84.730)

Under current law, the city of Kansas City is required to provide one-fifth of its general revenue per fiscal year to fund the Kansas City Board of Police.

This act increases such funding to one-fourth of the city's general revenue.

This provision contains an emergency clause.

This provision is identical to a provision in SS/SB 678 (2022).
