HB 2143 - This act modifies provisions of current law relating to cemetery trust funds by providing that when net income from the trust funds is not sufficient to support, maintain, and beautify a cemetery, the county commission may use as much of the trust fund principal as the commission deems necessary for the purpose of basic maintenance to control the growth of weeds and grass. This act is identical to provisions in the truly agreed to and finally passed HCS/SCS/SB 886 (2022) and substantially similar to provisions in HB 158 (2021) and HCS/HB 443 (2021). SARAH HASKINS
