HB 1977 - Under this act, Grade A retail raw milk or cream produced in Missouri, as defined in the act, may be sold to grocery stores, restaurants, soda fountains, or similar establishments if the raw milk or cream is clearly labeled as such or presented as such through written notice to the consumer. An individual who is the final consumer may also purchase and have delivered raw milk or cream for his or her own personal use. No bottler or distributor of Grade A retail raw milk shall sell, transport, or deliver any milk in Missouri unless the milk has been inspected by the State Milk Board at an interval set by the Board. Additionally, any dairy farm producing the raw milk shall have its herd accredited or certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a tuberculosis-free and brucellosis-free herd. While accreditation or certification is pending, all animals in the herd shall be tested annually for tuberculosis and brucellosis. This act is similar to SB 235 (2021), SB 861 (2020), and HB 1335 (2020). SARAH HASKINS
