Current Bill Summary

SB 572 - This act provides that a person whose abandoned property has been towed may have its contents released to him or her upon request.

The company holding or storing the abandoned property may require the owner of the abandoned property to complete documentation showing the property was released to the owner, and shall provide an itemized receipt for the property.

This act is identical to provisions in HCS/HB 543 (2023), and similar to HB 1262 (2018).
