SB 333 - This act creates the "Missouri Nuclear Clean Power Act" providing for clean baseload electric generating plants that utilize renewable sources of energy rated at 200 megawatts or more that are placed into commercial operation after August 28, 2023, to charge for the costs of construction work in progress. Additionally, costs recovered by an electrical corporation under this act are subject to inclusion or exclusion from rates in a ratemaking proceeding. The Public Service Commission may authorize an electrical corporation to make or demand charges for service based on additional amortization to maintain the electrical corporation's financial ratios in improving cost effectiveness in constructing a clean baseload generation plant or a renewable source generating facility.
This act is identical to HB 1684 (2022) and HB 261 (2021), and similar to HCS/HB 225 (2023).
