SCS/SB 319 - This act reauthorizes the Joint Committee on Disaster Preparedness and Awareness, making it a permanent committee. Additionally, this act removes the Director of the Department of Public Safety, the Director of the Department of Agriculture, and the Adjutant General as committee members and provides that the committee shall collect information from such departments.
Finally, this act provides that a chairperson and vice-chairperson, one of whom shall be a member of the Senate and the other a member of the House of Representatives, shall be elected for a two-year term.
This act is identical to a provision in HCS/SB 155 (2023).
