SCS/SB 185 - This act eliminates the Personnel Advisory Board and gives all duties and responsibilities previously held by the board to the Director of the Personnel Division and the Commissioner of Administration. The act additionally makes the position of Director of the Personnel Division appointed by the Commissioner of Administration. The Director may be removed by the Commissioner for no reason or any reason not prohibited by law. These provisions are substantially similar to SB 110 (2023), provisions in the truly agreed to and finally passed CCS/HCS/SS/SB 111 (2023), HCS/HB 127 (2023), provisions in SCS/HCS/HB 475 (2023), SB 996 (2022), provisions in HCS/SS#2/SB 997 (2022), provisions in the truly agreed to and finally passed SCS/HB 2090 (2022), and HB 2023 (2022).
Current law contains various regulations governing the inspection of certain factories, warehouses, office buildings, freight depots, machine shops, garages, laundries, tenement workshops, bakeshops, restaurants, bowling alleys, pool halls, theaters, concert halls, moving picture houses, or places of public amusement, and all other manufacturing, mechanical and mercantile establishments and workshops. This act repeals such regulations.
These provisions are identical to HB 1018 (2023).
