Current Bill Summary

HCS/HB 88 - This act allows animal chiropractic practitioners to engage in the practice of animal chiropractic without being licensed or regulated as a veterinarian. An "animal chiropractic practitioner" is defined in the act as either a licensed veterinarian or an individual who is licensed by the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners, who is certified by a veterinary chiropractic association, who has graduated from a certification course in animal chiropractic with at least 210 hours of instruction, and whose practice shall be regulated by the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Animal chiropractic practitioners shall not engage in the practice of animal chiropractic without a patient referral from a licensed veterinarian with a current veterinarian-client-patient relationship.

This act is identical to provisions in the truly agreed to and finally passed CCS/HCS/SS/SCS/SB 157 (2023) and SCS/SB 471 (2023).
