This bill changes all references to city officers in cities of the fourth classification to be gender-neutral, including changing "alderman" and "aldermen" to "alder" and "alders".

The bill establishes eight-year term limits for mayors and alders in cities of the fourth classification.

This bill provides that the offices of mayor and alder will be uncompensated except for a monthly stipend, and will not be eligible for employment benefits, as defined by law.
