HB 69 -- COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE ARRANGEMENTS

SPONSOR: Dinkins

Under most circumstances, advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) must maintain a geographic proximity of no greater than 75 miles to the physician they work with under a collaborative practice agreement.

This bill amends the geographic proximity requirement to 200 miles if the APRN is providing services in a correctional center.

Additionally, any rules promulgated by the Department of Health and Senior Services must allow for the 200-mile geographic proximity exception if care provided by an APRN is taking place in a correctional facility.
