HB 80 -- ACCESSIBLE PRESCRIPTION LABELS ACT

This bill establishes the "Accessible Prescription Labels Act". Each person that receives a prescription drug shall be notified by the pharmacy that an accessible prescription label is available to the person upon request at no additional cost. If a person informs a pharmacy that they identify as a person who is blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print-disabled, the pharmacy shall provide to them an accessible prescription label.

A pharmacy providing a prescription reader, defined as a device designed to audibly convey the information contained on the label of a prescription drug, shall ensure that the prescription label is compatible with the prescription reader.

The Board of Pharmacy within the Division of Professional Registration within the Department of Commerce and Insurance shall promulgate regulations necessary to implement the provisions of this bill. This bill is similar to HB 2783 (2022).
