This bill mandates each district to prohibit the use of corporal punishment and spanking in schools. It defines corporal punishment as the infliction of pain by an adult upon the body of a child as penalty for doing something that has been disapproved of by the adult.

This bill is similar to HB 160 (2023) and HB 1937 (2022).
