HB 181 -- TRANSIENT GUEST TAX

SPONSOR: Van Schoiack

Currently, cities and counties described in Section 67.1360, RSMo, are authorized to impose, upon voter approval, a transient guest tax of between 2% and 5% per occupied room or other sleeping quarters per night for tourism purposes.

This bill authorizes all cities and counties to impose such a transient guest tax upon voter approval.

This bill is similar to HB 2619 (2022).
