HB 343 Pouche, Sean
HB 343 -- NALOXONE ADMINISTRATION
SPONSOR: Pouche
Currently, first responders are required to operate under protocols established by the medical director of a local ambulance district when administering Naloxone to a person suffering from an apparent narcotic or opiate-related overdose. This bill modifies the definition of "qualified first responder" so that only fire department personnel, fire district personnel, or licensed emergency medical technicians have to act under the directives and protocols of the medical director, not state or local law enforcement agency staff members.
This bill is the same as HB 117 (2023).
