The following is a summary of the House Committee Substitute for HB 344.

Currently, before the adoption, amendment, or extension of a county planning board's master plan, the board must hold at least one public hearing and provide notice of the time and place, as specified in the bill. This bill requires that the notice also be posted on the county's website.

This bill provides that in counties without a newspaper of general circulation, the county collector must post a copy of the list of delinquent lands and lots on the county website or in the county courthouse in an area viewable by the public for three consecutive weeks before the sale.

This bill is similar to HB 1604 (2022).

The following is a summary of the public testimony from the committee hearing. The testimony was based on the introduced version of the bill.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this is an alternative for those counties without newspapers.

Testifying in person for the bill were Representative McGirl; Missouri County Collecters Association; Michelle D. McBride, St. Charles County; and Rhonda Anno, Macon County Collector's Office.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.

OTHERS: Others testifying on the bill say they would be available for any specific questions that members of the committee might have.
