HB 416 -- CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

SPONSOR: Sander

This bill provides that no person who currently holds an elective public office shall qualify as a candidate for another elective public office if the terms run concurrently. Such person must submit their resignation for their current office at least 10 days before filing a declaration of candidacy for a new office.

Officers of political parties and members of boards, commissions, councils, and task forces who serve without compensation are exempt from the provisions of the bill.
