HB 455 -- CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT APPLICATION

SPONSOR: Coleman

This bill provides that any sheriff, and not just the sheriff of the county in which the applicant resides, may process a concealed carry permit for any Missouri resident if the resident applicant can demonstrate a substantial delay in the processing of permit applications in the applicant's county of residence. The requirements and fees imposed on out-of-county residents shall be the same as those for county residents, except that the sheriff may charge postage for mailing the permit materials. Both sheriffs of the applicant's county of residence and the county where the permit is processed shall maintain records of the permit.

This bill is similar to HB 1642 (2022).
