SCS/SB 856 - Under current law, mayors of certain classifications of cities must be a resident of such city at the time of the election and for a certain time period before the election. This act provides that a candidate for mayor of a city with a population of less than 5,000 inhabitants must be a resident of the county in which such city is located at the time of the election and for a certain time period before the election.
