Current Bill Summary

SB 747 - Under the act, an electrical corporation shall not begin construction of an electric transmission line that transmits electricity over 230 kilovolts, or any structure containing transmission lines transmitting over 230 kilovolts of electricity, without first obtaining statutory authorization from the General Assembly, and then obtaining permission and approval from the Public Service Commission.

The act is substantially similar to HB 1752 (2024).
