Current Bill Summary

SB 1429 - This act requires blood banks to test or have tested donated blood for evidence of any COVID-19 vaccine or any other mRNA vaccine components. If the donated blood tests positive for such vaccines or vaccine components, then the person who withdrew the blood or separated the blood shall label each container with a designation of the positive status. No person shall administer blood by transfusion in this state or transfer or offer to transfer blood for transfusion unless the blood container is labeled as required under this act and the person receiving the transfusion, or the authorized representative of the person, has acknowledged that such person or representative was given the opportunity to refuse blood that tests positive for COVID-19 vaccines or mRNA vaccine components.
