SB 1448 - This act adds to the offense of unlawful possession of a firearm that a person shall be guilty of such offense if he or she knowingly possesses a firearm and the person is under 18 years of age and on public property. However, such person shall not be guilty if he or she is accompanied by a person 25 years of age or older, for the purposes of a school-sanctioned event, for hunting, or if the person is otherwise authorized by law to possess the firearm. This act is substantially similar to HB 1535 (2024).
