SB 669 - This act creates the offense of interference with a first responder, which shall be a class A misdemeanor. A person commits the offense when a person has received a verbal warning not to approach from a first responder who is engaged in the lawful performance of a legal duty and the person knowingly and willfully violates the verbal warning and approaches within 25 feet with the intent to: (1) Impede or interfere with the first responder's ability to perform his or her legal duty;
(2) Threaten the first responder with physical harm; or
(3) Engage in conduct directed at a first responder that intentionally causes emotional distress and serves no legitimate purpose.
