Current Bill Summary

SB 201 - Currently, a statewide activities association that facilitates interscholastic activities for secondary school students who attend a public school in this state may serve as the appellate body that handles appeals of decisions made by such activities association. This act transfers the authority to handle such appeals to the State Board of Education. Within 48 hours of receiving an appeal, the State Board of Education shall meet to consider the appeal, and within 24 hours of such meeting, the State Board of Education shall decide on the appeal.

This act is identical to SB 1297 (2024) and HB 2378 (2024).
