HB 38 -- Registration of Heating and Air Conditioning Businesses
This bill creates the Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Licensing Board within the Department of Natural Resources. It will be the duty of the board to adopt rules and regulations, mechanical codes and standards, assist and advise the department, conduct hearings and investigations, suspend and revoke licenses, specify appropriate examinations, establish inspection programs, review applications, and collect fees.
The bill contains provisions regarding what levels of licenses will be required and what types of work may be exempted from licensure.
Beginning January 1, 1996, it will be unlawful for any person to engage in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration work without an appropriate license. Violations of this act are a class A misdemeanor.
