HB 45 -- African American Men
This bill creates a five member Commission on the Extinction of African-American Males in the Department of Health. Members will be gubernatorial appointees confirmed by the Senate and at least 2 will be African-American men. The commission will study the status and problems of African-American men in contemporary American culture and assess social forces which may contribute to the extinction of such men.
The commission will publish its findings within 3 years after the bill becomes effective and will deliver the report to the Speaker of the House, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and the Governor. Members of the commission will be reimbursed for their official expenses and the department may assign personnel to assist the commission.
