HB 54 -- Insurance Coverage of Mammograms
The bill requires health insurers and similar entities to cover mammograms for women, if a physician recommends the mammogram and either the woman, her mother, or her sister have a history of breast cancer. Insurers are allowed to limit this coverage to the extent of limits imposed on other radiological examinations. These include deductibles, copayments, and dollar limits.
