HB 82 -- Special License Plates
This bill authorizes a special plate to be issued designated as "helping schools". Any vehicle owner can obtain this plate upon annual application and payment of a $15 emblem use contribution to the school district. The school district will issue to the vehicle owner an emblem use authorization statement which will be presented by the vehicle owner to the Department of Revenue at the time of registration. The department upon presentation of the authorization statement and payment of the fee required for personalized license plates and other fees and required documents will issue a special plate bearing the "HELPING SCHOOLS" emblem.
Each license plate will be embossed with the words "HELPING SCHOOLS" at the bottom of the plate, an emblem depicting books or other scholastic equipment or materials approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and a five-- digit number to the right of the emblem.
