HB 185 -- Sex Education
This bill defines course material and content for any public school sex education program. Such courses of instruction are required to include discussions of abstinence from sexual intercourse as 100% effective protection against unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Additionally, instruction must include but is not limited to discussion of the emotional and psychological consequences of preadolescent and adolescent sex, the values of monogamous heterosexual marriage, and the laws of this state relating to statutory rape and financial responsibility for children born out of wedlock.
