HB 200 -- Circuit Courts

This bill allows Jackson County and St. Louis County associate circuit judges to participate in the appointment of the county's probate division commissioner. The bill also sets the compensation of the commissioner that is serving on the effective date of the bill so as to equal that of a circuit judge. Subsequent commissioners will receive pay equal to that of an associate circuit judge. The bill also allows the circuit judges and associate circuit judges of both Jackson County and the City of St. Louis to each appoint an additional commissioner of the probate division, whose pay will equal that of an associate circuit judge. The two probate commissioners in Jackson County will each sit in different venues.
