COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Tourism, Recreational and Cultural Affairs by a vote of 17 to 1.
This substitute designates the Paddlefish as the official state aquatic animal and the White-tailed Deer as the official state mammal.
FISCAL NOTE: Not available at time of this printing.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that studies and surveys were done that point to these as appropriate designations for state emblems.
Testifying for the bill were: Representative Legan; Missouri Department of Conservation; Sharon Anhalt; Mike and David Vinyard, Jerico Springs 4-H students.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
