HB 320 -- Emergency Dispatch Services
This bill permits any first class county to establish a joint central fire and emergency dispatching service administered by an elected board, with one member from each county council district or appropriate subdistrict. Board members serve 4-- year, staggered terms and cannot be paid employees of any fire protection or ambulance district or department. Establishment of the central fire and emergency services board is contingent upon a petition signed by 5% of the county voters or upon motion of the governing body of the county. Voter approved property tax levies are authorized.
