HB 457 -- Esthetics
This bill establishes a classification under the Board of Cosmetology for estheticians. Estheticians are individuals who apply cosmetics, perform electrolysis, and color eyebrows and eyelashes.
To become a qualified esthetician a person must complete at least 750 hours of course study and 125 hours of classroom training from an accredited school of cosmetology or esthetics.
The bill also contains provisions regarding the curriculum to be used and subjects taught in cosmetology schools regarding esthetics, and the amount of floor space available in the schools for each student for instruction.
