HB 494 -- Utility Companies
This bill requires gas corporations in which a majority of the interest is held by a non-resident or a firm not organized within Missouri to maintain the same percentage of employees who are Missouri residents as there was prior to the change in ownership. In addition, the Public Service Commission is required to issue strict guidelines concerning the shut-off of service by gas corporations.
This bill also prohibits the commission from approving the transfer of controlling interest in any public utility more often than once every 10 years.
