HB 530 -- Social Workers
This bill creates within the Division of Professional Registration the State Committee on Social Work. The committee will oversee the practice of clinical social work and baccalaureate social work practice. The bill contains provisions regarding the appointment of members to the committee; the committee's role in assessing competency of licensees, giving examinations, issuing, renewing suspending and revoking licenses; collecting fees; establishing continuing education programs; and establishing rule making authority of the committee.
The bill establishes the definition of baccalaureate social workers and defines their scope of practice.
This bill contains penalty provisions.
