HB 567 -- Concealed Firearms
This bill permits retired state, county, or municipal law enforcement officers to possess a firearm without committing the class D felony of the unlawful use of a weapon if he or she:
(1) has completed a peace officer training program;
(2) has completed a firearms safety or training program approved by the Department of Public Safety within 5 years of possessing a concealable firearm; and
(3) maintains an individual liability insurance policy which provides coverage to anyone injured by the firearm.
