HB 572 -- Oil Spill Liability
This bill exempts persons responding to oil spills from liability for removal costs or damages, as long as their actions are consistent with directions from federal or state officials. The exemption does not apply to the party responsible for the spill, or to cases involving willful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, or wrongful death.
