HB 585 -- Storage of Fuel Hydrocarbons
This bill adds one member to the State Oil and Gas Council, and gives the Council the authority to regulate the storage of gas, oil, and other fuel hydrocarbons in naturally occurring geologic deposits. The State Geologist must issue a permit for an operator to commence or maintain storage. Permit fees will be based on the energy content of the stored fuel and will be set to cover the total costs of regulation.
