HB 667 -- Health Care Plans
The bill prohibits health care plans from discriminating against certain providers. A health care plan cannot refuse to contract with or penalize for multi-participation a licensed health care practitioner who is willing to meet the terms and conditions of the plan's participatory agreement. In addition, health care plans must disclose to licensed practitioners who apply the reasons for refusal and must provide the applicant with an opportunity to correct deficiencies and become eligible under the plan. Beginning January 1, 1996, a health care plan as defined in the bill, must disclose selection criteria to any person, upon written request.
