SCS/SB 496 - The act provides that Public School Retirement
System (PSRS) health plan contracts shall allow employees who
terminate employment and are vested in PSRS to choose, within 121
days, to continue health plan coverage, similar to that provided
for MOSERS employees. A school district shall, at the time the
employee terminates employment, inform the person eligible to
continue to receive health plan coverage of the 121 day period
within which to elect to continue coverage. Currently, PSRS who
have retired may elect to remain or become a member of the plan
within one year of the date of retirement.
