Current Bill Summary

SB 593 - This act makes it an unlawful use of a weapon for a judge to discharge a firearm into a dwelling house or at certain other locations. It is also unlawful for a judge to carry a firearm into certain buildings such as schools or churches.

Both federal and state judges are still allowed to carry a concealed weapon. Retired judges may carry concealed weapons as long as they meet the requirements necessary to carry a concealable weapon pursuant to section 571.090, RSMo.

Retired law enforcement officers may also carry concealed weapons if they meet the provisions of section 571.090, RSMo and did not have their certification revoked at the time of retirement.
