SB 714 - This act provides that property owners may not prevent a tenant from obtaining cable telecommunications service or charge a fee from a tenant to allow the tenant to obtain cable telecommunications service from a franchised cable telecommunications provider within the franchise area. The cable telecommunications franchisee shall indemnify the property owner for damages from installation, operation or removal of cable telecommunications facilities and service. No cable telecommunications service shall be installed in a residential dwelling unless requested by the occupant.
This bill is similar to SB 613 of 1996.
