SCS/SB 719 - This act adds the public administrators in all counties to the county salary commissions. Currently, only public administrators in first class counties are members of the salary commission. In addition, the public administrator in all counties shall be a public officer when performing duties under Chapter 473 (Administration of Decedents' Estates), Chapter 474 (Intestate Succession and Wills) and Chapter 475 (Guardianship), RSMo. Under the current subsection 2 of Section 473.730, RSMo, only the Jackson County public administrator is a public officer.
If the public administrator does not receive $45,000 in fees, then the public administrator may request an increase in salary, not in excess of $10,000, from the County Salary Commission.
Circuit clerks, except the circuit clerk of St. Louis City, shall receive an additional $5,000 annually in salary, beginning January 1, 1997 and the amount shall be adjusted annually to reflect the cost of living.
This act is similar to HB 1297.
